Hi, I’m Joa

Here to Help You Harness Your
ADHD Brain and
Finish What Matters

The start…

I started my coaching journey while running Graft, a charity I founded in 2003 that worked towards breaking down employment barriers for disabled and disadvantaged people. That’s when I realised the biggest obstacles weren’t external systems—they were the beliefs people held about themselves. That insight shaped my work, and in 2007, I became a certified coach.

My journey…

Since then, my journey has been deeply personal as well as professional. It wasn’t until I discovered my own ADHD that I began to understand the tangible differences in how my brain was wired. Learning to work with my brain rather than against it has been transformative. I’ve embraced tools and habits that align with how I think, developed compassion for myself, and focused on building stress resilience—essential for both my work and my well-being.

I’ve also found joy and meaning in the small things: daily cold-water dips in the river, a passion for pilgrimage, and time with my teenage daughters. These moments remind me that life’s most meaningful shifts often come from learning to embrace who we truly are.

Today…

Through this work, I’ve come to see that embodying our strengths doesn’t just create clarity and focus—it provides a roadmap for a new way of living and working. By moving away from hustle culture and toward emergence, collaboration, and authenticity, we not only transform our personal lives but contribute to the systemic shifts the world urgently needs. When we lead with our strengths and embrace vulnerability, we create the conditions for innovation, resilience, and meaningful change—for ourselves and for others.

Today, I help leaders like you navigate the unique challenges of ADHD and neurodiversity so you can turn big ideas into meaningful change. As someone who knows first-hand the overwhelm, burnout, and endless ideas that sometimes stall before they take flight, I also see the extraordinary potential within those challenges. Together, we can reshape how you approach your work and life, channelling your brilliance into clarity, focus, and impact.

"Joa is an adaptive, imaginative and intuitive coach. I felt very early on that Joa was responding to me as an individual, rather than trying to shoehorn me into a coaching model. Joa's incisive questions and canny observations kept me well on track and made sure we got the most out of our sessions.“
